What we're funding

The Research Councils UK Nanoscience Programme promotes responsible development, providing support for projects that develop the foundation to solve societal issues.

We are funding a wide spectrum of projects where nanoscience can make a difference to areas of societal need, healthcare, energy and the environment. In order to ensure the potential impact of the research, the programme is end user focused, taking forward those projects with a potential for commercialisation.

We also provide the framework for a sustainable nanoscience community within the UK. This includes innovative ways of training individuals to become world-class scientists through centres of doctoral training. Furthermore, it opens up equipment to enable access by the academic research community free of charge.
